What is Acute Kidney Disease?

Acute Kidney Disease is a disease when the kidneys fail to perform their job all of a sudden. It is a sudden loss in one or two days. This condition requires immediate treatment so that the necessary actions can be taken immediately. The methods people usually opt for is dialysis or renal transplant. But sometimes it becomes difficult to get a donor at that next time. Dialysis, on the other hand, requires lots of machinery and other necessary equipment, which may or may not be available at the time you need the most. But Ayurveda is the one such treatment that is open all the time.

What Are The Possible Causes Of Acute Kidney Disease?

There are a few causes of Acute Kidney Disease. AKD strikes you because of the excess demand for kidney functioning. When the kidneys are being pressurized to perform some extra work, they retaliate and stop working. Following are such causes of AKD:

  • A blood clot in the kidneys: The high amount of toxins or minerals present in the human blood can cause blood clots obstructing the blood flow. Blood Clots in veins and arteries are caused due to the following factors:
  • Immobility: The heart requires movement in the body to circulate the blood throughout the body. At times when the body doesn’t move or perform any physical activity, then the blood flow in the veins is more prone to get caught by the formation of blood clots.
  • Smoking: Smoking affects the functioning of different body parts and organs in different ways. Smoking is the primary cause of the formation of blood clots.
  • Loss of blood flow to the kidneys: A sudden attack on kidneys may affect the blood flow to the kidneys. At times, when the kidneys get injured or get traumatized by accident or by the overconsumption of drugs and narcotics.

  • Decreased or Increased output of urine: A frequent need to urinate or nothing at all. The feeling of urinating just after consuming a glass of water knowing the fact that your bladder is not full and the feeling when your bladder is full, but you are not feeling like urinating at all.
  • Swelling caused by fluid retention: Fluid retention can cause painful swelling around the belly area and feet — a sudden weight gain or a painful weight gain that lasts for a more extended period.
  • Alzheimer: To live in confusion all the time. When the kidneys are injured or diseased, the brain starts to forget things and can rarely recall the memories in severe cases. But in mild cases, the brain begins to forget the standard and general thoughts.

  • Loss of appetite: When the body doesn’t ask for food at all and can spends days and nights without eating. In other words, a kidney patient becomes unwilling to eat food daily.
  • Feebly beating of a heartbeat: Unstable pace of pulse or fast beating of the heart like the body has performed a vigorous exercise or some strenuous work.
  • Unbearable chest pain: Pain in the chest because of obstructed blood flow. It is felt like someone is stabbing. It can occur anytime, and the pain is so sharp that it becomes unbearable at times.
  • Nausea & vomiting: At times, it is confused with food poisoning, but it can be a stressful situation like Acute Kidney Disease. A kidney patient will vomit often and will feel sick like having a fever all the time.

How Long Can You Live With Acute Kidney Disease Treatment?

What Are The Preventions Should Be Taken During Acute Kidney Disease Treatment In Ayurveda ?

  • Control the blood pressure: It is necessary to keep control of the pressure of blood. Consume such foods and drinks that will not give a boost to the blood pressure.
  • Control of diabetes: It is the primary cause of kidney diseases. Keeping control over the sugar levels in the body will prevent disastrous results.
  • Avoid alcoholism: Avoiding the intake of alcohol will help in keeping the functioning of kidneys healthy. Alcohol causes inflammation and invites bacteria to hit the kidneys and other organs.
  • Limiting the intake of sodium, phosphorus, and potassium: Consuming a high amount of sodium, potassium, and phosphorus can help in the formation of blood clots and crystals in blood and kidneys, respectively. Limiting them can prevent the kidneys and related diseases.
  • Quit smoking: Smoking clogs the blood flow and blood purification. Quitting smoking can help in the prevention of acute kidney disease.
  • Avoid frozen, processed & canned foods: Frozen foods are rich in phosphorus and artificial colors. A kidney patient is recommended to reduce the intake of phosphorus in high amounts. The artificial colors are made with a chemical that adversely affects the life span of kidneys.
  • Exercise daily: Mild exercises can help the kidneys’ functioning. Too much exercise should be avoided Ayurvedic Kidney Treatment
  • Meditate for an hour: Meditation will help in building the concentration and memory power.
  • Practice yoga: Yoga can help in building strength in the body and will improve blood circulation throughout the body.

  • Consume food that is not only: The food should be non-oily. If you want to use oil for cooking, then use olive oil or castor oil only. They are suitable for the heart and put a little less pressure on the kidneys.
